The Martinique by Sun Pools is a 13′ x 29′ fiberglass pool with a listed depth of 3′ to 5′, and it fills a gap in the Sun Pools lineup. It is the only model on the Sun Pools roster listed at 13 feet wide, a foot wider than the 12-foot models and a foot narrower than the 14-foot ones. For Northeast Ohio families whose yard is a little too snug for a big pool but who want more than the most compact sizes, the Martinique lands right in between.

The Size Between Sizes
What Is the Martinique Pool?
The Martinique is a fiberglass pool that Sun Pools lists at 13′ x 29′ with a depth of 3′ to 5′. Sun Pools labels these approximate maximum available dimensions and treats any drawings as approximate and not to scale.
At 13′ x 29′ with a 3′ to 5′ depth, the Martinique has a distinct spot in the Sun lineup. Of all the Sun models listed with a straight 3′ to 5′ depth range, the Martinique has the largest footprint. The Cancun is bigger at 14′ x 40′, but Sun lists it as 3′ to 5′ to 3′, a different depth profile. A 3′ to 5′ range means the water runs from about 3 feet at its shallowest to about 5 feet at its deepest. Where that change happens, and how any steps and seating are arranged, is something we walk through on Sun Pools’ drawings with you during your consultation, well before any digging starts.
What the Martinique Pool Is Not
The Martinique is not one of Sun’s deeper designs. Its listing tops out at 5′. If deeper water is on your list, the Jamaica and Rio list 3′ to 6′ at 14′ x 28′, the St. John lists 3′ to 5’9″ at 14′ x 30′, and the Costa Rica lists 3′ to 6′ at 14′ x 31′.
It is also not a single-depth pool. If you want one listed depth instead of a range, the Lakeside lists 4’6″ at 12′ x 28′. And it is not a small-yard pool. Sun’s 12′ x 24′ models, including the Freeport and South Beach, and the 11′ x 23′ Sanibel are the more compact options at the same 3′ to 5′ listing.
Why Sun Pools?
Sun Pools started producing hand crafted swimming pools featuring American made composite materials in 1995. Its shells are built in Albany, Kentucky, at an EPA approved Title V facility, and Sun serves Ohio among the states it lists.
Three parts of Sun’s construction that matter on a shell like the Martinique:
- Critical point lamination: Sun uses hand cut sheet fabric for each pool model, placed across the shell from side to side, a method Sun compares to building a high end yacht.
- Skin-coat resin, ribs, and a reinforced coping: Sun finishes each one-piece shell with a modified epoxy skin-coat resin, backed by structural ribs and a reinforced coping.
- No clear coat: Sun offers 4 solid color choices, high grade marine finishes with what Sun calls a proven track record, and skips the clear coat bases it says can yellow or fog over time.
Sun Pools builds a non-skid textured bottom into the floor and steps of its pools for sure footing.
Why Fiberglass, and Why the Martinique?
A Sun Pools fiberglass pool is built in the factory and arrives on site as a finished shell ready to install, which Sun says saves weeks of construction time. The surface will not need to be replaced like a vinyl liner or acid washed or re-coated like a concrete pool, and Sun says its smooth interior requires minimum chemical treatment. After a long Ohio winter, a pool that simply needs opening, not resurfacing, is a real advantage.
The case for the Martinique is proportion. Sun’s roster has plenty of 12-foot-wide and 14-foot-wide models, and the Martinique is the only one that sits at 13. That extra foot over the Meridia, plus one more foot of length, gives you the largest straight 3′ to 5′ listing Sun offers without committing to the footprint of the 14-foot designs. For a family that wants a comfortable range of water in a yard where every foot counts, it is a thoughtful fit.

Martinique Pool FAQs
What does the 3' to 5' depth listing mean in practice?
It means the water ranges from about 3 feet at the shallowest point to about 5 feet at the deepest. A range like this gives a family both shallower water for easing in and deeper water for swimming, all within one 13′ x 29′ shell. Where the depth changes and how the floor is shaped are confirmed from Sun Pools’ drawings, and we go over them with you before you decide.
Why does a 13-foot width matter?
Width decides how a pool sits in your yard and how much deck and lawn you keep around it. The Sun Pools roster has several 12-foot-wide and 14-foot-wide models, and the Martinique is the only one listed at 13. If a 14-foot pool crowds your space but a 12-foot pool feels a touch narrow, that single foot can be exactly what the layout needs. We measure your yard on site so you can see the difference for real.
How is the Martinique different from the Meridia?
Both list a 3′ to 5′ depth range. The Meridia is 12′ x 28′, and the Martinique is 13′ x 29′, one foot wider and one foot longer. If the Meridia fits your space comfortably and you would like a little more room in the water, the Martinique is the natural step up at the same listed depth.
What layout options should I ask about?
A good first question is how the steps and any seating use that extra foot of width. The Martinique’s step and seating layout is confirmed from Sun Pools’ drawings during your consultation, where we can compare it with the Meridia next to it. Sun Pools does not list automatic cover compatibility on the Martinique’s model page, so Ohio Paradise Pools confirms cover options during design. Sun also offers brand-wide upgrades such as inlaid mosaic tile designs, waterline tile trim, built in waterfalls, and color underwater lighting.
How long does it take to install a Martinique pool?
Sun finishes the Martinique at the factory and ships it as a single shell. Once it arrives, most installations take approximately 2 to 3 weeks, running from excavation to shell placement, plumbing, electrical, and initial finishing, with permitting, site access, weather, and decking scope affecting the timing. Ohio Paradise Pools manages the whole build, sends regular updates and FaceTime walk-throughs, and closes the project with two pool school visits.
What warranty does the Martinique pool carry?
Sun Pools stands behind the Martinique, like all its fiberglass pool shells, with a Lifetime Structural Pool Shell Warranty. The interior surface is covered by a 3 year warranty, and you can transfer the warranty within the first 36 months. The Sun Pools Inc. Shell Warranty Certificate included with each pool governs the coverage, and the warranty requires registration with Sun’s corporate office. Locally, you have Ohio Paradise Pools behind you, with over 32 years in business, a BBB A+ rating, and recognition as Cleveland’s swimming pool contractor of the year in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
