The St. Thomas by Sun Pools is a one-piece fiberglass pool listed at 15′ x 30′, with water from 3′ to 6′ 6″. Those two numbers tell the story. Fifteen feet across gives a family room to spread out side by side, and a 6′ 6″ deep end gives stronger swimmers real water to enjoy, all in a 30′ length that fits yards where a 35′ or 40′ pool would not.

What Is the St. Thomas Pool?
Sun Pools lists the St. Thomas at 15′ x 30′ with a 3′ to 6′ 6″ depth, and it calls those approximate maximum available dimensions.
The St. Thomas’s step and seating layout is confirmed from Sun Pools’ drawings during your consultation. Ohio Paradise Pools goes over those drawings with you before anything is ordered, so you know how the shell is arranged before you commit.
What the St. Thomas Pool Is Not
It is not a compact pool. At 15′ x 30′, the St. Thomas is wider and longer than Sun’s 12′ x 24′ shells, and it calls for a yard with room to match.
It is also not one of Sun’s longest 15′ wide designs. The Dominican is listed at 15′ x 35′ with 3′ to 7′, the St. Lucia at 15′ x 37′ with 3′ to 6′, and the St. Croix at 15′ x 40′ with 3′ to 8’4″. The St. Thomas keeps the same 15′ width but stops at 30′ in length.
Why Sun Pools?
A 15′ wide shell has a lot of surface to keep true, which is where Sun’s methods come in. The company has hand crafted pools since 1995 at its plant in Albany, Kentucky, an EPA approved Title V facility.
- Critical point lamination: Sun lays hand cut sheet fabric, cut per model, across the shell side to side, a method it compares to high end yacht construction, rather than bulk glass run end to end.
- No spreader bar or belly band: Sun says critical point lamination allows its shells to support themselves, so neither is required to lift and place the St. Thomas.
Each shell is finished in a modified epoxy skin-coat resin with structural ribs and a reinforced coping, built from high grade marine FRP resin with no resin fillers, and colored with one of 4 solid marine finishes that use no clear coat. Sun Pools says the floor and steps of its pools feature a non-skid textured bottom.
Why Fiberglass, and Why the St. Thomas?
Sun Pools builds each shell in its factory, so the St. Thomas arrives on site finished and ready to install, saving weeks of construction time. Sun says the surface will not need a liner replacement like vinyl or an acid wash and re-coat like concrete, and requires minimum chemical treatment.
The St. Thomas argument is width and depth in a manageable length. Fifteen feet matches much longer Sun models, yet the pool stops at 30′. The 3′ to 6′ 6″ range gives waders shallow water and swimmers a deeper end in the same pool.

St. Thomas Pool FAQs
What do 15' x 30' and 3' to 6' 6″ mean for my family?
Sun Pools lists those figures as approximate maximum available dimensions. A 15′ width matches the Dominican, St. Lucia, and St. Croix, and only the 16′ wide Havana and Tropic are wider on Sun’s roster. The depth goes from 3′ at the shallow end, good for easing in and play, to 6′ 6″ at the deepest point. Deeper water calls for extra attention, and every swimmer should be supervised.
How does the St. Thomas compare with nearby Sun Pools models?
The St. John (14′ x 30′, 3′ to 5’9″) shares its 30′ length, and the Costa Rica (14′ x 31′, 3′ to 6′) is a foot longer. The St. Thomas is a foot wider than both and lists the deepest end of the three. For the same 15′ width in a longer shell, look at the Dominican at 15′ x 35′.
What layout options should I ask about?
Ask about the steps and any seating. The St. Thomas’s step and seating layout is confirmed from Sun Pools’ drawings during your consultation, and we review it with you before ordering. We will also confirm which Sun Pools options, such as waterline tile trim and color underwater lighting, are available for this model.
Can I get an automatic cover for the St. Thomas?
Sun Pools does not list automatic cover compatibility on the St. Thomas model page. Given Ohio’s roughly mid-May through September swim season, Ohio Paradise Pools confirms your cover options during design.
How long does installation take?
The St. Thomas arrives as one finished shell. Most projects then take approximately 2 to 3 weeks through excavation, shell placement, plumbing, electrical, and initial finishing, depending on permitting, site access, weather, and decking scope. We manage the project, send regular updates and FaceTime walk-throughs, and finish with two pool school visits.
What warranty comes with the St. Thomas?
Sun Pools covers the St. Thomas shell under its Lifetime Structural Pool Shell Warranty, with a 3 year warranty on the interior surface. The warranty may be transferred within the first 36 months, follows the Sun Pools Inc. Shell Warranty Certificate delivered with the pool, and requires registration with Sun’s corporate office. Ohio Paradise Pools adds local support built on over 32 years in business, a BBB A+ rating, and recognition as Cleveland’s swimming pool contractor of the year in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
What upkeep should I expect?
Sun Pools says its smooth surface requires minimum chemical treatment and will not need a new liner or an acid wash. The rest is routine: test and balance the water, run the filter, and skim or vacuum. A wider pool means more water to care for, and pool school prepares you for it.
